Baby Does Not Sleep

by Andrea

My 7 month old baby does not sleep! He is still up 3-4 times a night and will only nap about 30 minutes. I am worried that this will lead to developmental problems or may be indicative of one in the future. Any suggestion what I should do?

Sleep pattern change
by: Reena

If your 7 month old does not sleep, consider two things ? one that he may be overtired by the time it?s bed time, and secondly, consider the opposite ? that he may need fewer naps during the day now that he is seven months old.

Get some quite time and try some soothing activities at bed time, getting him to drift off gently. And if he is still having two or more naps in the day, try and cut out one ? you can do this my delaying his late morning nap to a noon or afternoon nap and so on?

It can be tiresome when their sleep patterns are changing but with some determined effort it is possible to create a schedule where the parents get some quality shut eye as well.
