Baby Feeding

by Kristi Loague
(Shannon, MS)

In the past two weeks, during baby feeding, whether it is by breast or bottle, my son will move his head from one side to the other. My baby is three months old. You either have to hold his head straight or try and stay with his mouth while he is doing it. He doesn't do it every time.

I also noticed him doing this one time when he wasn't eating. It isn't a violent or fast movement, he will just look from side to side and it is quick enough that I don't think he has time to focus on anything. He doesn't cry or appear to be in any pain.

Any suggestions to help?

Tired?
by: Anonymous

Maybe its a tired thing. I've seen babies do that specifically when they are in their beds or resting. I've always just put it down to either trying to get comfortable or trying to rock themselves to sleep. I don't think its anything to be very worried about unless it is interfering with feeding.
