Belly Sleeping

My son is almost 5 months old now and sleeps on his belly. This is often said to be a cause of SIDS, but he will not sleep any other way and has nothing else in his crib with him.

Because of 'guidelines' he is not allowed to be put on his belly at daycare without a doctor's note. I am getting ready to start him in his new daycare in 2 days and have to break him of sleeping on his belly because they can't put him down that way and he hasn't yet mastered rolling from back to belly.

My opinion is that I am the mother and mother knows best. Of course not in every aspect, but the parents should be able to make this decision.

I am not sure exactly how to go about changing how he sleeps, but this site seems to offer a lot of good ideas. I am going to try them all until one works! But in the mean time, any ideas of how to handle this?

Belly Sleeper
by: Jordan

My son is also a belly sleeper. And he is 4 1/2 months old.

Up until very recently my son would ONLY sleep on his belly. However, he has begun to prefer his back, which is fine with me. Personally, I let him sleep however he pleases.
