Buying Baby Clothes Made Easy

by Jennifer McAllister

Two important questions to ask when buying baby clothes are:

  • what is most suited, and...

  • what is good value-for-money?

Buying clothes for your baby can be a daunting experience. The variety, cost and sizes of clothes available for babies are as wide as those available for adults. Then there are also considerations like whether the clothes are meant for regular use or for special occasions.

But the biggest consideration, apart from safety and comfort, is that babies grow at an astounding rate and clothing expenses can be huge if you don't buy wisely.

Since comfort and safety is always a consideration, an effective way for going about buying clothes for a baby would be to divide them into specific age ranges.

Here are a few tips for wisely buying baby clothes and saving money in the process.

Clothes for Newborns to 3 Months

Buying a lot of clothes for a newborn is not advisable, because of their very fast growth rate. The prime consideration should be safety, especially to prevent choking on small things. Check that there are no buttons, snaps or any similar thing which might come loose.

Best buys are clothes which have Velcro and zippers at the back.

Clothes for Babies 6-9 Months

You can buy more clothes for babies that are in this age range. Buying clothes a bit oversized is often a good idea. This way you can save a bit of money, since your baby would be able to grow into them.

Best buys would be slightly oversized clothes.

Clothes for 12-24 Months

Babies in this age range are very active. They pick up new abilities, move about, play, understand some words and speak some as well. So clothes should not only be cute, but also durable. Babies in this age range often take off their clothes when they feel uncomfortable.

Best baby clothes buys for this age range is therefore durable clothes which are easy to undo.

Toddlers

Toddlers have typically started walking and talking. They are very curious about the world around them and very active. They insist on doing everything themselves. And they be in the process of being potty trained.

Clothes for them should ideally be comfortable, easy for them to dress and undress, and may have smaller fastening devices to teach fine motor skills.

On the whole, buying clothes for babies may appear to be a tough process but it is a deeply pleasing experience as well.

Buying clothes can be as easy and costly as merely buying anything you like, or as controlled as wisely buying for a specific age group.

Regardless of who you are, you can use the quick guidelines for buying baby clothes we've covered in this article, or alternatively, go to BabyKTanProducts.com for more information.
