Difficult to feed

My son is 2 year old and since started eating his first foods I'm finding it very difficult to feed him. He tightly shuts his mouth as soon as I try to feed him with a spoon. He'll eat only very little when I play his favorite video songs while eating. Can you please help me to stimulate his interest in food?

Feeding baby
by: Anonymous

Feeding baby can be difficult. Some babies seem to be real foodies and others seem not to want to eat at all. They can be very different. The disinterested ones just seem to have priorities other than food and eating.

If you are feeding baby food to your child, maybe you should try grown up food or vice versa, or let him try and feed himself; leave him to it, as it were. It may make a mess but it may be well worth the try. Kids find it fun and satisfying to feed themselves.

And just by the way a lot of parents overestimate the amount that their babies need to eat. Very little could be needed to satisfy his appetite, so do not stress about it too much.
