Get A 19 Month Old To Talk More

Does anyone know any good ideas to get a 19 month old to talk more or use more words? He is saying about 12 words right now, but no mommy or daddy. He was just evaluated by a Speech Therapist who says he is right on the 'verge'. What about using things like labeling, flash cards, anything else that might work?

Tips for talking
by: Anonymous

My baby is 18 & 1/2 months old and is very talkative. My suggestion is to spend maximum time with him. Talk to your baby as much as you can... it can be meaningless, but he will try to imitate what you are saying. Make him listen to nursery rhymes and act and sing along with him. I can assure you this will definitely make a difference.

Try using things like
V-Smile Baby
and other educational toys to encourage development. Those toys teach babies words, numbers, animals, etc. We are getting my daughter that for Christmas. What I also like about it is that
V-Smile Baby
works all the way up to about 36 months.
