Holding his head up

by Jess Lewis

My 6 month old (Isaac) is holding his head up, but he holds it slightly to the left most of the time. Is this something to worry about? He was born at 37weeks 5days.

Holding head to one side

If your child is holding his head up, but holds it slightly to the left it could be Torticollis... this is where the muscle is shortened in the neck and causing babies to favor their neck to one side. Fortunately with physiotherapy it can be fixed.

Too early to diagnose
by: Aida

Although it's too early to diagnose, because of the fact that the baby tends to lift his head and tilt it to the favoring side.

I´d dare recommend you have your baby's hearing tested. It could be nothing. And it could just be the way the light hits the room.

There are a thousand reasons for it, but I have had two similar cases of students that presented such symptoms. They went through many tests and doctors and both had ducts inside their ears clogged. So, just have it checked.

I don´t know how early their hearing can be tested. Ask your pediatrician.
