How Many Languages?

by Ingrit Gomez
(Bilbao, Spain)

I have a baby of 21 months who is bilingual.

I would nevertheless like to introduce him to a third language (English) by speaking to him.

When is the right time to do this? Is it not too much to speak to him in three languages?

Father: Spanish
Mother: English
School and environment: Vasque

The Sooner the Better

Actually the quicker you introduce different languages to babies the better.

Dr. Patricia Kuhl from the University of Washington is focusing a study on multilingual children. You can get a bit more information on it by searching online using her name and the University's name.

You'll be amazed to learn all your baby is acquiring thanks to his multilingual world.
