Infant Deafness

Infant deafness is always something we are afraid of. What signs should I be looking for in a one-two month old regarding deafness? Are there any other simple ways of finding out whether her hearing is OK?

React to noises
by: Nush

Babies who have no hearing problems always react to noises immediately around them. There are many baby toys making distinct and sharp noises. You just need to shake the toy reasonably near your baby's ear. If she hears, she will turn towards the noise. If for example you shake anything near the left ear, she will turn her head to the left. I just confirmed this with my 1 month old baby girl.
