The Kidco Happy Baby Food Mill
Kidco Happy Baby Food Mill
baby sleep habit
The Kidco Happy Baby Food Mill was developed by a
paediatrician for an easy and convenient way to prepare fresh
ground baby food.
The plastic is made to F.D.A. standards and the steel used
for the blade and sieve is of surgical quality.
The cup holds 4 ounces, which is a good amount to prepare
at one go. You could of course use a food processor or liquidizer if you have
one, but all but the most expensive models are not good at dealing with very
small amounts.
The Baby
Food Mill grinder is dishwasher safe, designed not to chip or break and
can be sterilized just as you sterilize baby’s milk or formula bottles. You
can buy spare seals if needed and there is also a convenient tote bag so that it
can easily be taken with you on visits and trips.
The Kidco is the way to go if you
want to be sure exactly what your baby is eating, rather than relying
on packets with their e-numbers and strange words – what is ‘sulphur
dioxide’ and what is it for? How about alkanet, emulsifiers or agar?
The Happy Baby Food Mill can be used with meat,
vegetables, pasta and fruit to produce any number of quick and convenient as
well as healthy dishes for your baby.
When
feeding baby such food if you are not too sure how much he will take just spoon
out a little into a separate cup or dish. That way you can be sure that you
aren’t dipping into the main pot with a used spoon and so can safely store any
uneaten food in the fridge for later.
If
you just dip into the larger amount in between mouthfuls and then store it
bacteria may be transferred into the food that will then multiply, even in
the cool environment of a fridge. Nor should you leave food around uncovered
as bacteria can enter in even the cleanest kitchen.
It can be used for both raw and
cooked ingredients and you can control the fineness according to the stage your
baby is at – smaller children prefer their food to be a total puree, whereas
those a little older can tolerate larger pieces.
Use the Happy Baby Food Mill Not Only For
Baby
You don’t
always have to cook separately for your baby. Provided they don’t contain
large amounts of salt or any hot spices.
Try some cooked carrot and potato
which you can then mix with a little gravy. Or broccoli which you can then mix
with a spoonful of cheese sauce. Pasta in a mild sauce can be ground with
success.
For
desserts many puddings can be used. Or put through the mill an apricot which
can then be mixed with a little cooked ground rice or some custard sauce.
The Kidco Happy Baby Food Mill also has other uses – when you just want to grate a
little hard cheese to sprinkle on a dish for instance or chop a small quantity
of herbs. Only don’t let baby know!
