Luxury Baby Strollers Guide
The production and sale of luxury baby strollers have lately come to the market with features that were previously unimaginable. Some of the features clearly push the ordinary stroller into the luxury category. Great New Luxury Baby Stroller Features | Best luxury baby stroller ever! "After spending a ridiculous amount of time researching strollers, I decided to go with the Britax Vigour. I love this stroller!!! Pros: Safe. Turns on a dime. Sturdy construction. Smooth ride for baby. Great looking. Costs less than a Bugaboo system. Works great for tall parents. Quick and compact fold. Great travel system with the Britax Companion car seat... just, click and go. Easy for a mom to lift in and out of a truck or hatch-back. One piece handle-bar allows for one-hand steering (sorry, two handles just aren't practical). Nice (but, not flat) recline for baby. Seat can be positioned to face parent or the world. Cons: The sunshade is way TOO small and offers virtually no protection for baby. I attached an after-market shade to the stroller to reduce glare, but I would have preferred a bigger shade. The seat is a bit small, so my daughter may outgrow the Vigour by the time she is a small toddler. My advice ... buy it!" |
Adjustable handle bars. This is a feature that is quite easy to implement, yet it is commonly only found in what are considered luxury baby strollers. Other baby strollers are made for the average height person, which makes them uncomfortable to use for the taller person. Pushing a baby stroller which is too low can be an unpleasant chore.
Reclining seats. A fully reclining seat is another feature that can potentially earn a baby stroller model in the ‘luxury baby strollers’ category. As it were, older baby stroller seats had only one possible position. Then came successive models with seats that had a number of reclining positions. And now we have luxury baby strollers with fully reclining seats, that is, seats which can recline up to 170 degrees. And while a reclining seat is considered a luxury feature, it can also be an essential feature in a baby stroller, especially when one considers how uncomfortable it can be to push a sleeping baby in a seated position (in the models without reclining seats). | The fantastic Quinny Buzz stroller! "I have had this stroller since last summer and I take it everywhere I go!! I love it. What I love the most is the way it steers---it is so easy to push whether you're shopping in a mall or walking on a rugged sidewalk. The other features that I love are the seat options--facing forward or backward, option for the bassinet or carseat and I LOVE the adjustable handlebar. Sometimes I have on flats and sometimes heels, but either way the handle is always perfect. Opening and closing is simple and easy--takes just a few second to even close. I have a minivan and my hubby drives an Acura MDX, so we've never had a problem with space. There are a few things I have a slight problem with: --The back wheels are extremely wide and I get caught on things constantly. It happens almost everytime I use it. There are definitely spaces and aisles it will not fit through. --The storage space underneath is a joke. It is so so small and pretty much holds nothing. Even when I put something in it, the basket is so shallow that i'm scared stuff will fall out of it. Those are the single two downfalls that I really have an issue with. Other than that the stroller is perfect---and I think it pushes just as easy if not easier than the Bugaboo. It is definitely worth the money! Enjoy!" | It is thus in view of this that many baby stroller makers are increasingly making baby strollers with at least some level of recline.
Canopy. A good (and ideally retractable canopy) is another feature which can potentially qualify a stroller into the luxury baby strollers category. This feature helps to eradicate worries that can be a major distraction and ruin your day out with your bundle of joy. As it were, many parents’ greatest worry is getting their baby soaked during a rainstorm or sun-burnt. But modern luxury baby strollers come with a retractable canopy, mostly made of water repellent material. Most of these also use the canopy to introduce other features like a peek-a-boo window and a bottle holder on the canopy.
Suspension. A real suspension system is another feature which can qualify a baby stroller into the ‘luxury baby strollers’ category. Modern baby strollers come with all wheel suspension, which makes for comfortable rides for baby, even in the worst terrain.
All terrain capabilities. All terrain baby strollers are the luxury baby stroller equivalents of four wheel drive vehicles, and most all terrain baby strollers are considered luxury baby strollers. Some of these strollers are uniquely designed with reversible steering. In these designs, there are two sets of wheels, one which has large wheels and another which has smaller wheels. Now the arrangement is such that when you are in rough terrain, you can push the stroller with the set of larger wheels as the front (steering) wheels, hence increasing maneuverability. When in smooth terrain, you can then make the set of smaller wheels the front (steering) wheels, thus saving on the effort required to push the baby stroller. Some of these all terrain luxury baby strollers actually come with high performance pneumatic tires, which greatly enhance the all terrain capabilities of the baby strollers. | Like a Bugaboo luxury baby stroller -- for two! "The Kolcraft Contours Options Tandem Stroller is everything we have been searching for in a double stroller! I can't stop grinning as I proudly wheel it along! We have a 2 year old and a 4 month old. As we had a Bugaboo Frog for our first child, we've been waiting for something just as good (but for 2 kids) to come on the market. In our opinion, the Kolcraft Contours Options Tandem Stroller fits the bill perfectly! WE LOVE IT! Our first double stroller was a side by side. It's width & it's weight made it totally impractical. It had to go..... We were prepared to pay a lot of money for a new stroller, if it was the PERFECT stroller for us. We were considering a Jane Powertwin (triple the price of the Kolcraft Contours Options Tandem Stroller) - which still wouldn't have met all our needs anyway..... So when we discovered the Kolcraft Tandem, we couldn't believe the quality, for such a great price! It's perfect for us! We particularly love: + the flexibility in seating options + the enormous shopping basket + the easy-open armrests to make it easy to get in & out + the toddler step - for climbing in and out + the drink holders & knick knack compartment (perfect for your mobile phone) + our MAXI COSI Cabrio fits in the car seat adaptor!! + the seats are comfortable for our 2 year old + it's easy to push + it's easy to manoeuvre + it fits through doorways easily + it's easy to get up curbs, even with the heavier child in front + it's easy to fold up + it fits in our VW Golf easily + it looks fantastic! The only negative is that it doesn't come with a rain cover! We're planning on using our Bugaboo rain cover for one seat, and purchasing another cover for the other seat. Hopefully that will work..... We bought our Kolcraft Contours Options Tandem Stroller online through Amazon and had it delivered to our hotel. We usually have both kids facing each other and they love it! So far we've had no trouble with leg room. The footrests adjust anyway, to make more room. At first it felt very long, like driving a train - TOOT! TOOT! But we soon got used to it's length & it's fine.... It's a real head-turner too, because it looks so good and people haven't seen anything like it before! It may not be everyone's perfect double stroller, but it's definitely ours!" | |
