Should Baby Be Fed More

I have a 7 month old baby and am concerned about whether my baby should be fed more or not. I'm concerned because the mother of my child gives me a schedule to only feed our baby 6 and a half ounces of formula only 3 to 4 times a day and 3 containers of fruit and veggies 3 times a day. My baby acts as if she's starving.

What do I do?

Self-Controlling Being
by: mauro tatini

A baby this age is a very good self-controlling being. She will eat when she's hungry, and stop when she's not. Unless you're feeding her a lot of sweet stuff and things that she'd eat for pleasure (we do learn early about those), she won't eat more than she needs. Trust her.

Not only that, but a child goes through several growth spurs, when they eat the whole day - literally!

They need the extra food.

My problem is the other way around: my wife would stuff our 14 month old son with food the whole day, if he let her. She gets upset with every meal he eats less than she makes. He's on the 95 percentile on the growth chart, and she's still thinking he needs more food!

It is a daily battle to let her know he's fine. Talk to the pediatrician, so you can have something to tell your wife/mother of your child that isn't just "I think this or that..."
