Skipped crawling

by Nate
(Michigan)

My 8 months old son skipped crawling and has, with our help, been walking for about a month and a half. The doctors are now saying that we need to stop him with the walking and get him to crawl. They say if he doesn't that it could cause him to have a little bit of a disability. Does any one know if this is true or if it is just a load of nonsense? Will it affect his motor skills if he walks instead of crawls?
