Wakes constantly

by Mary Donovan
(Ireland)

My 13 month old granddaughter wakes constantly during the night and wants her bottle, with the result that her mother is getting little or no sleep. She is very clingy and cries if the mother is not with her. She is also a very active baby during the day and should be sleeping the night. She wakes up every two hours or so. Please give me some advice as my daughter is at her wits end.

Two suggestions
by: Hikma

I am a mother of a one year boy and a worker too. I have the same experience as you. And yeah? it's so annoying because it makes us fall asleep at daytime. My baby wakes constantly because of his full diaper or being thirsty.

My suggestions are to firstly, give him/her more milk... so that he/she does constantly wake up. The idea is to postpone hunger time. Secondly, check her/his diapers. Maybe it is already soiled. At least this way you eliminate two of the obvious and common problem areas. Hopefully this is useful.
